Another Big 12 transfer. Another Elijah. UNLV picked up transfer number two of the day, as Elijah Harkless announced on Twitter he is going to Vegas.
Earlier in the day, Elijah Parquet from Colorado announced he is transferring to UNLV as well.
Harkless joins a steady stream of Big 12 transfers to UNLV. Last season Jordan McCabe (West Virginia), Royce Hamm (Texas), Donovan Williams (Texas) and Victor Iwuakor (Oklahoma) all transferred into UNLV.
Harkless is the first Big 12 transfer of this offseason, as Parquet (Colorado) and Jackie Johnson (Duquesne) were the first of 2022 to pick the Rebels out of the portal.
Last season at Oklahoma Harkless averaged 29 minutes in 26 games. He scored 10 points per game.
Harkless was not very efficient last season, as he had the this worst offensive rating among Oklahoma’s top 10 players. He shot 32.3 percent from three (slightly below his career average of 33.2%). He also struggled finishing at the rim, making just 55.9% of his layups and dunks.
He did rank as the second best defensive player on the team by Evan Miya.
The 6-foot-3 guard played two seasons at Cal State Northridge before transferring to Oklahoma, where he played two more seasons.
Well, we now have 5000 guards.
Is that too many?
I guess Kruger’s plan is to run.
It better be because we can’t match up with anyone else’s front line.
Two more scholarships left, GO BIG OR GO HOME.
