Elijah Parquet is transferring to UNLV after four seasons at Colorado.
Earlier today Parquet announced on Twitter that he is heading to Las Vegas for the 2022-23 season.
In his four seasons at Colorado Parquet played in 105 games, making 57 starts. He posted a career high 6.7 points per game this past season in 29.5 minutes per game.
Parquet was voted the best defensive player on the Buffaloes last season.
At 6-foot-3 Parquet fits in on the wing, where UNLV will have to replace Bryce Hamilton, Mike Nuga and possibly Donovan Williams (if he decides to turn pro).
Three-point shooting has not been a strength over Parquet’s career. He shot just 22.2 percent from beyond the arc last season. He took just 152 threes at Colorado, making 32.2 percent.
Parquet did finish well around the basket in his career at Colorado, making 68.5 percent of his shots at the rim. But it is on a small sample size of just 89 shots.
Parquet joins Jackie Johnson as the second incoming transfer this offseason, as Kevin Kruger has added to the backcourt.
While these kids are decent that UNLV are bringing in, they are just not recruiting on a high enough level.
We have a very average roster for the 22-23 season.
With 3 more scholarships Kruger better hit some HRs.
