UNLV is in Richard Isaacs’ top four

UNLV could end up landing a top 50 player in the class of 2022, as Richard Isaacs listed UNLV in his top four with Oklahoma State, Arizona State and Texas Tech.

Isaacs is ranked as the 37th best player (and 7th best point guard) in the 2022 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports composite ranking. The four-star prospect would be the 8th highest rated recruit in UNLV history if he becomes a Runnin’ Rebel.

But if it wasn’t for Iowa State firing Steve Prohm and hiring T.J. Otzelberger, going to UNLV would not have been an option for Isaacs.

Otzelberger did not recruit him.

Isaacs told the Las Vegas Sun last month: “I started hearing from UNLV right when coach Kruger got the job. I didn’t get recruited by the previous staff for some reason. That was kind of odd. But right when coach Kruger got the job, he prioritized me.”

Kevin Kruger has given UNLV a shot at a top 50 recruit. The Rebels do not have any commits for the 2022 class yet. But with players allowed to transfer without sitting out, coaches can restock their rosters with college players rather than incoming freshman.
